- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The employees at this branch are very polite, helpful, and good at their job. I've had little trouble with the corporate structure either. - ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I had been a customer with Metropolitan National Bank (Kimberling City Bank previously) since 1999. I didn't have any negative interactions with the bank until this year. I stopped using my checking account with the bank a year or two ago and left $45 in it. Earlier this year, I got a letter from the bank stating my account had been closed due to a zero balance. I called and asked what happened, and the manager of the Hollister branch explained that they supposedly sent me a letter (I didn't receive it) stating that my account had a low balance and that they had been charging me a $10 fee per month until my account got to zero, and they closed it. This is the kind of nonsense that will really tick off customers, as it did with me. I asked the manager if she would at least reopen my account and return the balance, but she claimed she could only give a certain amount of refunds in a time period and couldn't do it. Well, if the bank is not willing to take care of a very frustrated customer, then I will not do business with the bank in the future, and I will let others know how the bank treated a longtime customer. They have answered my many questions about online banking, and have spent time with me discussing my options for other services like loans, mobile check processing, and such.
